About the Y

The YMCA's purpose is to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities

More than a gym, the YMCA is one of the largest not-for-profit community service organizations in the United States. Nationwide, YMCAs serve thousands of U.S. communities, uniting 21 million children and adults of all ages, races, faiths, backgrounds, abilities and income levels. Our mission: to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Read more about our mission and values.

Here at the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South, we are directly involved in our community to make a positive impact. We serve approximately 160,000 Mid-Southerners each year through 8 full-service branches that offer aquatic, wellness, teen leadership, at-risk youth and senior programs.
