Summer Camp

Summer Day Camp programs provide an exciting, safe environment for children and teens to explore the outdoors, build confidence, develop skills and make lasting friendships and memories, so they can grow as individuals and leaders.

‘Superheroes in Training’ Camp Themes and Field Trips:

Week 1: ’The Superhero in Me’

Did you know there’s a superhero just beneath your surface? Come expose your super powers with us and join our superhero training camp. See who can earn their cape at the end of the week in our very own superhero induction ceremony!

Field Trip: Shelby Forest

Week 2:  ‘Defeat Summertime Blues’

Take the next step in your superhero training and join us as we defeat summertime blues and learn about our very own Metropolis and surrounding areas.

Field Trip: Mud Island

Week 3:  ‘H2POW’

Aquaman sure knows how to have fun in the water and that’s good because it makes up 71% of our planet and 100% of this week at camp! Come join us in a wacky, wild and wet week of water games!

Field Trip: Water on Wheels Truck

Week 4: ‘Out of This League’

It’s going, going, gone! Superman just hit one out of the park in the annual Justice League vs. Avengers sports tournament. Come join us as we compete all week long in our own junior leagues after we watch some professionals that is! We’re sure to meet all of our GOOOOOALS this week!

Field Trip: Memphis Redbirds Baseball Game

Week 5: ‘Watch Me Grow’

The Hulk didn’t get that big and strong without eating his veggies! This week is all about how we and our plant friends grow in the world around us. We’ll learn how important plants are to us and the planet and then we’ll plant some seeds of our own.

Field Trip: Shelby Farms Playground/ “Dig It” program

Week 6: ’Red, White and BOOM’

After that last punch from Wonder Woman, that villain is sure seeing stars and we will too in this patriotic themed week. Wrap up the week with some of America’s coolest creatures!

Field Trip: Lichterman Nature Center “Animals Alive!”

Week 7: ‘Real Life Superheroes’

They may not fly or leap tall buildings in a single bound, but these heroes save lives and keep us safe every day and we think that’s pretty super! Come celebrate our everyday heroes with us as we learn how we can be heroes to those around us too.

Field Trip: Fire, Military and Police Visits

Week 8: ‘Super Science’

All that super cool superhero tech doesn’t build itself you know! This week we’ll learn the basic science behind those super gadgets. Then we’ll see if we can use those gadgets to travel to outer space.

Field Trip: Planetarium

Week 9: ‘Dynamic Duos”

What’s Batman without Robin? Everybody needs their friends and fighting crime isn’t the same without a partner. Come find your partner against crime this week as we train to be a duo!

Field Trip: Karaoke/ Dance Party

Week 10: ‘Save the City’

Calling all superhero recruits! The super villains have taken over the city and captured all of our heroes! Come help us save our super friends and save the city in this final test of your super skills. We’ll have to travel to the villain’s hide out for the final battle for justice.
