The YMCA of Memphis & The Mid-South is proud to be participating in the St. Jude Ride this October. Teams from each branch will participate in the race and we want you to join in!

  • Must be 12 years or older to participate
  • Up to 12 members per team

Diverse Children Running Towards the Finish Line

New Youth Fitness Classes

Beginning September 11th

Come and have FUN while getting FIT with our Personal Trainer and Sport Specialist Ronda. Each session starts the 2nd and 4th week of the month.


Fitness and Fun

This Fitness and Fun class will include the fundamentals of fitness as well as the following components: Agility, Balance, Coordination and Strength training drills Introduction to the basic components of fitness.

Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $25 for a 2 week session
Ages: 5 – 9 years

Youth Speed & Agility

No matter your sport, agility is important key essentials. Youth of all fitness levels can increase core stability, improve speed and sport functions.

Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Times: 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Cost: $25 for a 2 week session
Ages: 10 – 14 years

Splashball

Splashball™

Ages 8 – 12

We are excited to announce our newest program: Splashball! In partnership with Bluff City Water Polo, this program will provide basic skills and understanding of Water Polo for youth in a recreational format. Splashball, harnesses all the fun dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn aquatics experience that motivate kids to swim and stay fit. See Splashball in action!

Social Responsibility

Visit the Ric Nuber YMCA Library!

The Nuber library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange at the Welcome Center. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share! You do not have to bring back the same book that you took from the library. Look for books in these categories: fiction, large print, board books, picture books and level readers.

Fall Swim Teams

During the school year we are proud to offer two levels of swim teams- Developmental and Pre-Competitive. Practices will begin the week of September 11th.

Developmental Swim Team

For beginners that have never participated on the swim team

Practices: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays
Swim Meets once a month in our YMCA Developmental Swim League.

  • Must be able to pass the YMCA swim test
  • Swim one length of the pool unaided
  • Float on back for 30 seconds

$25 Annual Registration Fee

Members: $60/month      Non-members: $80/month

Pre-Competitive Swim Team

For swimmers with a little more experience and ready for the next level

Practices: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday
Swim Meets in the the Memphis Swim Conference (MSC).  

  • Must swim 3 of the 4 strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle) legally
  • Previous swim team experience recommended
  • At least two practices a week must be attended

$25 Annual Registration Fee

Members: $80/month      Non-members: $100/month

Are you 55 or older? Looking to take your workouts to the next level? TRX will introduce exercises that will improve your balance, mobility and strength. 45 minute small group or individual sessions available.

In group swim lessons we use a variety of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. Qualified instructors meet kids at their own level, help families set achievable goals, and celebrate success.

Training for a triathlon? Just want to get back into the swim of things? Master Swim is a adult, aquatics fitness program organized for the purpose of training, fitness and enjoyment of swimming.
