Youth Wellness Orientation

The Youth Wellness Orientation will introduce your child to the Wellness Center and inform them how the YMCA fits into their goals of becoming a healthier individual. This class incorporates wellness etiquette and equipment use into the curriculum. Participants in the 10-12 age range are allowed to use the Wellness Center (excludes free weight area) under the supervision of a parent/ guardian and, and those in the 13-14 age range may workout independently (excludes free weight area. Parents must be on premises). Participants must be the required age at time of registration and must complete the orientation prior to using the wellness center.

Teen Leaders Club

The purpose of our Teen Leaders Club is strengthen our community by inspiring young leaders in an encouraging and safe environment while dedicating ourselves to a healthy Spirit, Mind and Body.
New members are accepted at all times and all that is required to begin the process is a letter of recommendation.

Junior Leaders: 10-12 years old

Our Jr. Leaders Club allows young leaders to learn social responsibility through peer training and community engagement while also developing valuable leadership and life skills. Fitness and academic development are heavily emphasized.

Teen Leaders: 13-18 years old

Teen Leaders are kept actively involved in community activities for the purpose of service learning and leadership development. Leaders are required to complete a minimum of 100 community service hours each year. Fitness and academics development are heavily emphasized. Leaders are also eligible to attend Blue Ridge Leaders School in Black Mountain, NC. This week long training school is attended by Teen Leaders from across the nation.

Senior Leaders: 18 years old & up

Senior Leaders have completed at least one year as a Teen Leader and have graduated from high school. Senior Leaders assist the club advisors in planning & developing activities, serve as mentors to Junior Leaders, as well as, monitoring club fitness and academic standards.
