Our karate focuses on personal growth through individual and group training in a supportive, cooperative, and family environment. This is traditional Okinawan karate taught at the student’s own pace. If you want a unique exercise routine, practical method of self-defense, or to earn a black belt in karate through discipline and self-respect this is for you. A class for the entire family.

The YMCA at Schilling Farms is looking for cancer survivors to participate in our upcoming LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA cancer survivor exercise program. This 12 week workout program is designed help people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body. There is no charge to participants and their families.
Program Starts: October 23, 2017
Days: Mondays & Thursdays (Meets twice weekly)

This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a lifeguard and professional rescuer. Upon successful completion of this course participants will be certified in ASHI (American Safety and Health Institute’s CPR Pro, Basic First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, and YMCA lifeguard). Minimum age to take the course is 16 and participants must successfully complete the prerequisites on the first night of class. Sign up now; space is limited. Walk-ins are not accepted.
Check email regularly for updated course information. Refunds will only be given in the event the prerequisites are failed or a 48 hour notice is given before the first day of the course.

At the Y, we believe that the ability to swim is a critical life-saving skill for every child, teen and adult. In group swim lessons we use a variety of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. Qualified instructors meet kids at their own level, help families set achievable goals, and celebrate success.
Our Swim Starters class is the perfect introduction to swimming. Sessions include 30 minute sessions over a four week period. Parent or guardian is required to attend and participate.
Members: $30 Non-Members: $50
All fall sessions will meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays for four weeks for a total of 8 classes. Each class is 45 minutes long.
Members: $60 Non-Members: $100
This class covers the fundamental first aid with CPR and AED skills for adults, children, and infants. This course also includes basic first aid and environmental emergencies. This class is approximately 5 hours in duration, with an 8 participant limit. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a two year American Heart Association Certification card. The Special Needs Athletic and Aquatics Program is in need of volunteers. If you have a passion for helping special needs children, please sign up at the welcome center to volunteer on Friday afternoons. Make a difference in a child’s life!
Your children will love kids fit classes! Let your kids have fun while exercising at the same time. An instructor will lead the participants from the Youth Center into the gym for this half hour class and play a sport related activity.

Special Needs Athletic and Aquatics Program or SNAAP offers a free safe environment for children and adults with special needs to get involved in activities that include obstacle courses, stretching, pool games, and much more. Because of much community support and volunteers, S.N.A.A.P. is free of charge to all participants.
Open to anyone in the community with a child who has special needs. Limited to 10 children per class. After the class is filled there will be a waiting list taken and families will be called as openings become available. Volunteer ratio is usually 1 to every 2 children. Parents are encouraged to watch as the children participate in the class. The classes are lead by trained staff and volunteers. Class will not be held on Fridays when schools are closed, severe weather, or holidays.
Water Based (September 1 – December 15)
45 Minutes of water exercise/play by staff and volunteers. No cotton shirts.
Land Based (January 12 – April 27)
5 minutes of guided stretching, 20 minutes of obstacle course, 15 – 20 minutes of games (parachute, relay races, Simon says, limbo, basketball, etc.), 5 minutes of cool down
Alpha Center (September 1 – December 15 & January 12 – April 27)
Children participate in strength training activities in our Alpha Center both semesters. Cardio machines- treadmill, elliptical, recombinant bike, upright bike. Strength machines- lower body rotation, upper body rotation
Open to anyone in the community with special needs. We are limited to 10 participants for the class. This hour long class is an aerobic style class with varying classes such as dance, strength training, and cardio. Classes are held in the Aerobic Room.
