Youth Wellness Orientation

The Youth Wellness Orientation will introduce your child to the Wellness Center and inform them on how the YMCA fits into their goals of becoming a healthier person. This will be a onetime class with both a classroom portion and a Wellness Center portion incorporated into the curriculum. Flexibility and basic nutrition are also included into the curriculum. Participants will receive a wristband at the completion of this class that will allow the 10-12 age range to use the Wellness Center and Alpha Center (excludes free weight area) under the supervision of a parent/ guardian and 13-14 age range may workout independently. Participants must be the required age at time of registration. Maximum number per class is 12 participants. There is a minimum of 4 participants in order for a class to be held. Registration must be at least 1 business days prior to class date.  All participants must wear attire appropriate for working out. Please no jeans or khaki shorts.  Athletic shoes are required.

Get Started at the Y

To help you reach your Wellness Goals, we want to understand more about you. We offer several options to help us get to know you.

FREE WELLNESS GOALS MEETING/FITNESS ASSESSMENT

Meet with one of our Personal Trainers to discuss your goals to become healthy. Learn the operations of the Wellness Center as well as instruction on how to use the cardio and strength training equipment with safe and proper technique. Your meeting may also include basic fitness tests as chosen by you to assess your current health level. Ask the Welcome Center about how to make your appointment.

NEW TO FITNESS EQUIPMENT ORIENTATION

An introduction on how to use our cardio and strength equipment with safe and proper technique. FREE for members.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Personal training can make the difference in the success of your fitness program. If you need that extra motivation and one on one attention, we are here to help. Your trainer builds an extensive health history and fitness assessment to determine your goals and then guides you through a personalized program. Prices available upon request.

Get the personal attention, motivation, and expertise you need to achieve your health and fitness goals with the YMCA personal training. Our nationally certified YMCA personal trainers are here to serve you and help you reach your fitness goals. They have the knowledge and expertise to develop a safe and effective wellness program to best address your specific needs and interests.

Registration: See Wellness Center staff for personal training options and to schedule your training. Training is provided by YMCA staff trainers only  with a 24–hour cancellations policy. (members may not bring their own personal trainers).  Groups must purchase packages at same time.

TRX Suspension Training

What is TRX?
First created by U.S. Navy SEALS and then developed by Fitness Anywhere®, Suspension Training® is a revolutionary method of leveraged bodyweight exercise. TRX allows you to perform hundreds of exercises that work your entire body and is perfect for all fitness levels. Sign-ups are required for all classes.

TRX 1, 2, 3 – A total body workout system that improves your balance, strength and flexibility. This class is appropriate for beginners, but incorporates techniques that will challenge even the most advanced students.

Small Group Training

Get in shape with Small Group Training. Small Group consists of 3/4 individuals meeting with a trainer for 8 one hour sessions. Our Certified Personal Trainers are licensed YMCA professionals who want to help you meet your fitness goals. Small Group Training is an affordable way to get motivation, guidance, help meet your desirable goals, and make new friends along the way.

  • Helps fat loss /weight loss, body shaping & muscle toning
  • Enhances cardiovascular health
  • Increases energy, stamina, & endurance
  • Improves body composition, strength, & boosts metabolism
  • Helps prevent injury, reduces anxiety & stress

Small Group Training *(Groups require at least 3 participants)

Lasts 4 weeks and meet twice per week for an hour with a trainer (8 sessions)

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA

TAKING ACTION. CHANGING ODDS.

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a small-group program that helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following a cancer diagnosis. Through this program YMCAs are creating communities among cancer survivors and guiding them through safe physical activity, helping them build supportive relationships, and reducing stress – leading to an improved quality of life.

Begins: February 13th, 2017
Days: Mondays & Thursdays
Time: 2:00 p.m.
Location: The YMCA at Schilling Farms
Duration: 12 weeks
Cost: Free of Charge

The program consists of group exercise using cardio equipment and strength training machines, guest speakers, and more, all in a support group atmosphere. The program is open to the public and will be free of charge.

To become a part of this session participants need to be 18 years old and up. Participants with any type of cancer are welcome. They may be going through treatments or not — may even be long time cancer survivor that needs help getting back to their normal life.

Pickleball

Learn to play Pickleball

Pickleball is a cross between badminton and table tennis. You play with a racket and small plastic ball on a court with a low net. Rackets and balls are provided. Join our Pickleball group in the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. for an introductory lesson to the game. All skill levels are welcome and no experience is necessary.
