Fayette County YMCA Soccer

Don't miss out on the action! YMCA soccer promises no try outs, no getting cut and no bench warmers. Every child plays at least half of every game all while making friends and learning new techniques. The parents, volunteers and staff that support our program are committed to incorporating the values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility into all aspects of our program. Soccer is open to boys and girls ages 4–13. We offer spring and fall programs.

YMCA's Philosophy for Youth Sports

The YMCA youth sports programs are designed to promote growth in spirit, mind and body; encourage participation through family involvement; and provide low-level competition with an emphasis on fun, safety, teamwork, fair play, and skill development.

The goals and objectives of YMCA Youth Sports are based on certain beliefs about youth sports, a philosophy summarized in the following eight concepts:

  1. Participation—everyone plays!
  2. Fun—we play sports to have fun!
  3. Fitness—regular cardiovascular exercise is important for a lifetime!
  4. Skills—emphasize the fundamentals!
  5. Teamwork—focus on cooperation, not competition!
  6. Fair play—involves respect!
  7. Family involvement—youth sports is a family program!
  8. Volunteers—are the key!

Volunteers

Volunteers are a vital part of YMCA youth sports. Parents and coaches provide the power of instruction, support and encouragement that build winning spirits in our youth. Volunteers and team sponsors also provide the time and resources that help make our leagues successful.
