The YMCA will be offering full day care options and Virtual Learning Support for school age students. More info will be released soon.

Parents of Shelby County Schools Students:

The list of identified childcare resources for employees and parents that was shared by Shelby County Schools is a list of currently operating essential childcare sites. There are still spaces available for children of essential workers and it is provided free of charge for these families. For more information or to register for the Essential Worker Childcare Program, follow the link to this page or contact the YMCA Customer Support Center directly at 901-766-7677. In addition to this program, the District and the YMCA are working on a plan for childcare support during virtual learning and will be communicating those options for essential working families in the near future.

Parents of Other School Municipalities:

The Y is currently working with all of our school partners to establish childcare locations to meet each school's return-to-school plan, as we anticipate many districts using virtual learning either partial or full time. Our plan was and will continue to be to contact each of our current partners to talk through options for your specific community for the fall. The need is high for youth to have safe spaces to learn! We are excited to explore this opportunity to continue to meet the needs of our childcare families this fall!

Coming Soon From the YMCA

The YMCA is working to provide Full Day and Half Day care options for working families. These care options will provide support for students while they are participating in Virtual Learning. We are also working with our school partners to offer Private Tutoring and other activities for students! We will be releasing more information about our upcoming programs soon.
