Summer Food Program Aid

MEALS FOR CHILDCARE PROVIDERS AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

WE ARE HERE TO HELP

As the YMCA continues to support and carry the vision of Shelby County Schools Superintendent Dr. Joris Ray, the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South will continue providing meals for children while schools are out by expanding its partnership with SCS to continue serving meals to children throughout the summer.

The YMCA will continue providing meals at the current community meals sites and collectively the YMCA and SCS will provide meals to additional meal sites to reach even more children this summer. The Summer Food Program will begin on June 1, 2020 and will continue throughout the summer and pandemic. New locations will be updated regularly on our Meal Site Locations page.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND CHURCHES TO SERVE AS MEAL SITES

The summer meal program traditionally provided by Shelby County Schools will be very different this year due to the overwhelming decrease in summer programming for children. Without the operation of the traditional summer camps and summer programs, the YMCA and SCS need the community’s help to reach children in the communities where they live by becoming community meal sites.

If you would like to apply to become a new site, please fill out the new site application below to begin meal service to your organization.
