Y On The Fly
THE YMCA WITHOUT WALLS
The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is proud to announce our newest program called “Y on the Fly,” which was made possible by a grant of $90,000 from UnitedHealthcare. The program contains two mobile units designed to deliver programs and services to youth in neighborhoods throughout our communities that currently are unable to take full advantage of YMCA programs and services.
The Y on the Fly program seeks to deliver a “Y without walls” programming experience directly to communities outside of the Y’s current service areas and will allow our organization to serve more neighborhoods and more children than ever before.
This “Y without walls” experience delivers food, education, books, games, physical activity, swim safety lessons, and enrichment activities that are designed to encourage learning and inspire imagination. In addition to Y programming, other nonprofits, healthcare providers, and community organizations will be able to come alongside the Y on the Fly units and deliver additional family and youth services such as vision care, dental, immunizations, and more.
